introduction
introduction
you have a choice to make
between a blue and red pill
to be what is given
or become through will
the blue pill offers absolutes
as waves of doubt crash down
shelter trembling minds
before in fear they drown
the red pill is an acid
that burns away illusion
ingest it and let reason
shine light on delusion
question everything
peel the onion back
until you stand exposed
before the void’s black
but do not be afraid
do not retreat
let go and enter
emptiness will greet
but no matter your path
whatever your guide
love does not care
which pill you decide
--
finally, why poetry
why not be more direct
why speak in riddles
why the allegorical effect
because truth is elusive
it does not sit still
it must be whispered
not hammered by will
becoming turns brittle
when fixed into creed
once named eternal
it ceases to breathe
poets shine light
on the hidden fear
until what we call truth
grows honest and clear
dialogue is centered
reflecting the middle way
with no capitals
nothing absolute to say
